Georgia Museum of Art
The state’s official museum of art since 1982, the Georgia Museum of Art offers free admission to all visitors six days a week. Located in a contemporary building on UGA’s East Campus, it features 20-25 temporary exhibitions a year. Its permanent collection includes more than 10,000 works of art. American paintings, Georgia decorative arts, Renaissance devotional paintings and more enrich the Athens arts scene. Hundreds of free programs reach all ages, and membership offers additional benefits, like free admission to receptions.
